Leadership is often associated with titles, but my experiences have taught me that true leadership goes far beyond a position or role. Being a founder, a club head, and a backstage leader showed me that leadership is about action, responsibility, and teamwork.

As the Founder and Head of a student-run club called Tiger Squad, I was responsible for planning and executing school events. From coordinating logistics to ensuring everything ran smoothly, the role demanded organization and adaptability. Problems would arise unexpectedly—technical issues, time constraints, or last-minute changes—but learning to stay calm and solution-oriented became my biggest strength.

My role as Head of Backstage for the school’s drama club further shaped my understanding of leadership. Backstage work often goes unnoticed, yet it is critical to the success of any production. Managing technical teams, coordinating rehearsals, and ensuring smooth transitions during live performances required trust and collaboration. I learned that leadership sometimes means working behind the scenes and empowering others to shine.

One of the most valuable lessons I gained was the importance of communication. Clear instructions, active listening, and mutual respect helped prevent confusion and built strong teams. Leadership is not about giving orders; it is about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.

These experiences taught me that leadership is a mindset. It is about stepping up when needed, supporting others, and taking responsibility for outcomes. Whether on stage or off, leadership is defined by impact, not titles.
